Unabridged Audiobook
I totally enjoyed this book! There were constant twists and revelations that kept me engaged, and the Irish brogue added much dimension to the characters. I definitely give it 5 stars...the screen recorded only one because I wasn't quick enough. Setting the story in the midst of the COVID pandemic gave it something to which the reader could relate, and certainly added to the story line. Juxtaposing the past and present events, as well as adding the point of view of each character to each event was a very unique method of weaving the plot together.
I can't even begin to describe how I think I'm a very good at understanding how things are going to turn out and what characters are going to do and then being continually surprised throughout this novel was a delight. I mean it kept me guessing constantly and I loved the time play. It was just brilliantly constructed and not difficult to follow despite the time play. I'm going to be looking for more from this author.
great book! keeps you wondering what's going on, how it's going to end, etc. totally recommend it
Loved this book so much. Great story and characters
This was a good story but the back and forth was very very confusing. I rewound a gazillion times it took me forever to finish. I stopped reading it round one. Then went back to it to try to read it again.
This was so good! Mystery? So many in one book! Suspense? Yep, lots and lots. A shocking revelation that brings it all together? That, too. The writer expertly wove an intricately detailed story.
I want to delete this book
This was one of the best "listens" I have had in a long time. A really excellent thriller/mystery in which the reader is taken down the wrong path throughout and when everything is reversed, suddenly, it truly is a surprise. Very good writing with excellent narration. This novel was named one of the Twenty Best Thrillers of 2021, and I think that it fully deserved to be included in that list. I strongly recommend it.
Being for the mid-west, United States, at times I found the narrator very difficult to understand. I enjoyed the story as it is recent and relevant.
