Unabridged Audiobook
This book is a necessary component to understanding United States history. I appreciated learning more about the horrible role my Ulster Scott ancestors played in genocide. In fact, I appreciated the entire book as it is extremely detailed, well researched, and effectively communicated.
This is a hard read, but a necessary one. At multiple points I had to stop the book and grapple with it. She’d tears as the horrors were recounted. The reality is, Native peoples were oppressed and mutilated to the point of extinction. It is a hard reality, but it is reality. The book, after outlining all the horrors of colonialism, ends with hope and a start of re-birth, but there is still a long way to go.
