what an incredible ride that was...10/10

It has a gripping plotline and great twists with a steamy romance. I really liked how the POV kept switching between the main characters, and even though the professor/student thing is generally more of a turn-off for me, the author somehow managed to make it seem like less of a messed-up power imbalance and more of a hot, forbidden love. Great narrators and really awesome world-building, with a very original and intriguing plot. 10/10

the story itself is mostly entertaining, but some of the conversations are very soap-operaish. some of it reads a little too cliche & tries to sound smart, but it comes off poorly, and forced. specifically the professor's conversations with lillia.

I loved everything about this book! It’s a wonderfully written story, with a steamy dark romance, and the perfect amount of suspense and horror. Everything I’ve heard says it’s a standalone, but I could see so many other books set in this world! Fingers crossed!

I LOVED this book! It was definitely a slow-burn, which I’m not normally a fan of, but this story kept me on my toes! I absolutely loved the story and couldn’t stop listening!

okay so this book has so much potential and I was enthralled for 80 percent of it's contents. the ending, for it being a dark romance, was not macabre enough for me personally and it felt more like a fairytale than a dark romance. maybe I like it darker, who knows. all I can say is I was left feeling unfulfilled with spook and gore where the potential was so clearly there.
