Unabridged Audiobook
You definitely need to listen to the first book in this series to understand the relationships in this sequel. Initially I listened to this book and had a hard time following the characters. I then listened to Strawberry Field Girls then this one immediately after and it made much more sense. Great story and characters in my opinion.
Excellent! So true to life and the way it worked out the life issues
I really enjoyed this book and couldn't stop listening both at home as well and in the car where i normally listen to my books, will definitely check out other titles by this author and narrator
Too many characters introduced at once. Narration does not have much, if any, difference between characters. Makes it hard to follow who is talking. Not a believable accent for England, the time period or location of the setting.
I didn’t read the 1st review (about reading the first book before beginning this one) so I muddled through a few chapters but got so engrossed in what it must have been like for the Europeans during WW1 and the difficulties, especially with rationing. It’s a GREAT read! I am going to read the 1st book, then go back and listen to this one again. I really enjoyed the narration because of the accent and hearing the words used a century ago.
