Unabridged Audiobook
Well, maybe fantasy isn't for me...But I did like Quicksilver more than this. I had to force myself to finish it and found myself zoning off while listening. I didn't feel the chemistry between the leads, mainly because I did not find Paedyn likeable. Why would both brothers be interested in a snappy girl? How is she different from Blair, which they hate? They also have to tell her multiple times how smart her comebacks are, when there's nothing extra smart about them. The male voice actor uses a very charming voice, but it also sounds unnatural how he's always speaking in a raspy voice, as if intentionally trying to appear sexy in ANY situation. The way the author is trying to sound poetic all throughout the book with her over-inflated writing style gives "all style, no substance". Plot holes all throughout, little things like: you're telling me the king said the ordinaries are diseased and infecting the elites and no one questions it (including his sons), with no proof needed? Cause this would not happen in our Earth - are most humans over there supposed to be stupid? Or how has she been stealing for years, but never met again a person she previously stole from?
