This book is a must read for anyone in sales , particularly life insurance . The author transparently shares the discouragement that comes with being in the field , but he also shares great nuggets on how to overcome and be successful . His illustrations are amazing ! He shares strategies that are honest, realistic, and proven . He does not teach trickery or borderline lying in order to close on sales . I’m actually about to listen to the book again . He is specific and to the point . He is not trying to draw you into purchasing another book , he gives the names of a couple of authors that helped him . The book is worth the buy and more . This is one of my favorite improvement books! My records show this is at least the 9th time I've listened to it here on Audiobooks.com. Arthur Morey does such a great job expressing Frank Bettger's voice, which is so down to earth. I felt like Frank and I are simply taking a walk or sitting comfortably as he shared these stories and lessons he learned. While there is a focus on selling I feel like the lessons learned here are applicable even if one isn't selling. [On the other hand we are often selling something, even if it's the reasons for our choices.] While the entire book is excellent, Mr. Bettger truly finishes it off well. Frank explains how he applied the 13 virtues Benjamin Franklin focused on throughout his life, as he [Ben] shared in his autobiography. Frank makes this practice his own and elegantly challenges readers to do the same. I will admit that for so long I though this was a daunting complicated process of focusing all my reading and free thought to the virtue or concept of the week, but I was wrong. I see it as more of a truth to re-affirm daily for a week. I am currently working on choosing and creating my 13 concepts [some of Ben's and Frank's will no doubt make the list]. By the next time I re-read this book, I look forward to sharing not only that I have been applying this process but what effects that application have caused.
