Started off intriguing but the author’s constant switching between “before” and “after” makes it difficult for the reader to follow and find connections. The main character is also infuriating. The book also drags on and on towards the end. I could barely finish the novel because I found the main character so infuriating. The narrator was very good, however.

Very good book but you need to pay attention as reading switches from one time period to another. It’s easy enough to follow as long as you’re expecting the switches.

The method of storytelling was both annoying and intriguing. As an audio listener, many times I was confused where I was in the narrative. I had to listen stop and listen twice several times. As a writer, though, I contemplated how the author used past and present stories to support each other without divulging the book’s climax(es). The next listen will be more enjoyable, although I did enjoy the first as well.

You can't help who you fall in love with.

Heartbreaking and tender. A lesson in the consequences of the choices we make and the courage to do the right thing. Narrator was spectacular!

This book evoked so many emotions similar to bridges over Madison County. It was so deep and rich in its storytelling. The narrator did such a good job. I didn’t even think about it being narrated I just felt immersed.

Excellent book!

The story started off rather slowly, but I stuck with it and wasn’t disappointed. First off, the writing is fantastic! I will definitely be looking for more books by the author. The story was…ok. Rather repetitive in my opinion. Although I appreciate the complexity to the relationships, it came across as a bit far-fetched. The narrator was very good, however.

SO good - I had seen this book for a few months and decided to buy the hardcover and the audiobook. No regrets - great narration. A somewhat slower paced story with mystery and intrigue.

Loved this book! It took about 20 minutes to grab me, but when it did, it was captivating. Narrator was great!

This was an enjoyable book to listen to. It had all the great elements - love triangle, true love, deception, tragedy and a few unexpected reveals. I usually read fast paced who-done-its and legal thrillers. This was a slower pace but very engaging.

It was a good book

This is another one that had RAVE reviews, and it was fine, but not race worthy. The twist was fine, but I was on to it pretty early.

This is a beautiful story of love and selflessness. As someone who has also suffered the loss of a child it really hit home and was oddly comforting in so many ways. I would high suggest it.

It was a little hard to follow at the beginning but then I couldn’t put it down.

This is a gripping and amazing story!

3.5 stars, but this is not an option, so I rounded up to 4. In fact, story itself gets a 4. But I take off .5 for descriptive sex scenes. Not for me. To each his own.

This is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Did not want to put it down. Don’t want to spoil anything but this is an absolute MUST read! Narrator was awesome, too.
