Unabridged Audiobook
A touching, simply told and straightforward memoir of resistance and survival under the Nazi regime. Though the author did work for the Dutch resistance, putting herself in even more danger than the typical resistance fighter because she is Jewish, her active time in the resistance was cut short by her arrest, and there were no truly gripping episodes. I wouldn't call it "remarkable" as the title does - there are quite a few brave tales from that era, but she did have an amazing number of lucky moments and fortunate encounters with some kind people that, together, helped her get through what most people in her circumstance did not survive. The narrator read clearly and with an appropriate voice and tone. She was well-suited for this book.
