Unabridged Audiobook
Kudos to the Author and Narrator! The Spencer Cohen Trilogy was a roller-coaster ride of humor and sometimes wrenching human emotion. The main character has pulled his life together despite having been emotionally torn apart from the time he was a teenager. Those are wounds that cannot go away, but they can be healed by the caring and affection of others, but which requires strength of character, which Spencer has. I really liked the dialogue and the details that the author goes into about the various events and places. I really don't go in for "4 letter words", but for some strange reason, I was not put off by them in the context of the story. The Trilogy is a "redemption" romance and that's exactly what I was looking for. And I can see myself listening to it again and again. And that brings me to the narration. Mr. Joel Leslie is so convincing as Spencer, and as all the other voices in the book. His mastery of Australian and American accents, of male and female voices is jaw dropping and so entertaining. How he kept everyone's voice straight in some of the scenes is simply the work of an artist. I am ready to hear him narrate the telephone book for me, but I think that I'll go for one of the other many audiobooks he's worked on.
