Being the only daughter of one of the most powerful mafia families on the East Coast, my life was pretty much planned out for me. An arranged marriage to the son of another powerful family. But my heart had other plans.
For as long as I could remember, I loved Dante Vitale, my brother's best friend, but he only saw me as a little sister. Until he didn't. Our love was real, pure, and I was prepared to go against my papa's wishes for the man I loved. But then tragedy struck, and in the blink of an eye, he was taken away from me before we even began. When Dante took his last breath, I took mine. I was a ghost of myself, here in body but not mind. And now, I don't care what happens to me.
I embrace the darkness, pushing forward with the marriage my papa had planned and not caring what happens to me… Until I meet him.
Now, everything I believed is being brought into question. Time is running out, the clock ticking. Do I fight for my future, for him, or do I keep my family safe?
My name is Allegra Marchetti.
And this is my story.
