Excellent series, only downside is the annoying trumpet fanfare that sounds periodically throughout the story

Excellent book as always! Characters develop a lot more and we get to see a lot more of each of their sides

I really love the world that Jim Butcher has created and the characters are interesting. There is plenty of intrigue, politics and magic to capture your attention and want to follow through and see the outcome. Kate Reading is a great narrator. Overall, this has been an enjoyable journey.

in my opinion, this second installment of the codex alera series tavi's cleverness and potential really begin to take shape. i could revel for days in the world that jim butcher has created. once again, kate reading's narration is impeccable. if you have been enjoying how well written the dresden series is, but are shy about giving a different type of book by jim butcher a try, please jump into this sereies. it does have a very different personality, but it is just as savory, satisfying and clever.
