Unabridged Audiobook
I listened just to find out if she really did do it or not but I feel like it was a lot of wasted potential, not to mention plot holes… which is the biggest one that’s literally….. where DID she go during the tornado? What DID happen? What DID she see? It’s all just a courtroom drama. And did she actually just make believe it all? Who knows this book won’t tell you
Good read held my interest. Loved the Southern accent.
Meh…
Enjoyable light reading
I liked this story and narration. clever take on the derivation of an old classic story.
it was interesting and never knew there was a second thing about wizard of oz
The story is horrible. The wicked witch is Dorthy’s mother and uncle Henry is her father, this is what the author wants us to believe. Too much focus on Dorthy and her psychiatrists. Not a good story or read.
suspencfullI liked it
I had some fun with the story, but I didn't care for the way it was written (2 separate people talking to themselves to figure things out).
An interesting book. Fun reimagining of the character.
could of used a better reader. found myself drifting. good story
Loved this story, author did an amazing job of capturing the time the story took place in
thought it was a really cool take on the Oz story, told from the side of "reality". Enjoyed it and the ending.
good book enjoyed the surprise
I picked the girls on a whim not knowing hardly anything about it. But I wanted to step out of my normal read. I only knew that it's what happened to Dorothy after returning home. It's an interesting tale. Never thought of all the twists and assumptions that came about. The narrator was pleasant sounding but at times I feel didn't capture the moment as she stayed pretty bland the entire reading. I'm not sure how the book is truly written and how much that would affect the readers pauses, but at times it didn't seem appropriate... if that makes sense. But again, this was a step away of more modern thrilling mystery and murder.
still waiting for....something, but interesting take on the story of The Wizard of Oz. narration can often be the key to a good audio book, this one didn't make or break the book but made me think I should read it on my own. Enjoyed the story for sure, narrator could be better but all in all would listen again
This was a good book and I really enjoyed the narrator.
The storyline drew me in. I would have liked this version of Dorothy to have been more fleshed out. It was more of a documentary, which makes sense, sice Dr. Evelyn is documenting this time in Dorothy's life.
I was a bit apprehensive in selection but figured I'd give it a shotAnd once it started I was. Hooked. Absolutely amazing
Narrator was alright, but it wasn’t anything that kept me super engaged. Had the book been better, I might have been able to rate the narrator higher. The book itself was difficult to finish — I thought I would like it much more than I actually did. There were moments where the different character POVs droned on for paragraphs in ways that felt irrelevant as they didn’t actually add to or progress the storyline. I had to force myself through parts of this book and take breaks when I didn’t think I could keep going because I was annoyed or bored. I shouldn’t complain much since it was a free audiobook, but I was barely able to finish this.
From the beginning I wondered WHY would an Author take away a beautiful fantasy of a young child ? And write such a convulative story . The narrator after explanation of both the Author and the reason behind this story were beautifully explained !
Loved the book. Great twists that I never expected.
