literally one of the best reads I’ve read ever.

This book felt like a devastating war movie... but make it Romantasy. I'm heartbroken and loved it. "You made me feel like the parts of me that aren't useful still deserve to exist. Like I'm not just all the things I can do."

Ending felt rushed

I struggled to get into the story at first! But I enjoyed ot in the end!

I really enjoyed this book, granted the parts that are dark are pretty dark and made sense later on in the book. I think over all the story was nicely written and done. I think this book had one of the best full circle moments. I enjoyed the ending. This book had great characters and depth to each of them. I think that every single part of the story was written in a way where things lined up and everything was answered. Highly recommended. Please make sure to read the warning first before reading.

I enjoyed the book, all 30 hours of it. I became invested in the characters. The ending was a let down, not enough to lower my rating though. The narrator really did a nice job of differentiating the characters.

I enjoyed this novel. The narrator was great. If you’ve read the fanfic, the general plot stays the same.

10/10, no notesEven knowing how it would end, I still cried my eyes out. The narrator was fantastic! Her ability to capture the emotion and mold her voice for each character was impressive. I was lost in the story every time I hit play.The story was so heartbreaking but beautifully written. The saddest part of the whole story is that I could see this actually happening. The choices the main characters make are questionable but I think truly capture realistic decisions. We would all like to think how heroic our decisions would be if we were put in the same situation, but it's a hard pill to swallow what would actually happen. I think this story does a great job of capturing the real human experience, regardless if it's fantastical setting. There are no real winners in war, and this story captures that.

Such a good read, definitely recommend going back through part one after finishing the book as it will make so much more sense!

Very dark themes but it’s a great story and leaves you thinking about the characters long after

Not necessarily bad but I found myself frequently really bored. Characters did not stick with me, plot felt repetitive too often. World building and lore had some really interesting aspects but could’ve been executed way better. And the story that was told definitely didn’t need 1000+ pages or 36 hours of listening.

Really enjoyed this book

Not my style.. The MC is a prisoner. She is not a fighter at all. The entire concept of how she is treated as a prisiiner is unbelievable. I'm a few hours in and have not found a character i enjoy following. Narrators voice is fine but the pauses after sentences is excessive even when the speed is increased.
