Unabridged Audiobook
Wow! It was a fantastic read and I need more
the story was boring and repetitive..
The narrator was very, very soft spoken, almost whisper like. The volume contrast between narration and character voicing was rather extreme. If you are listening in a quiet environment it may not be a problem. There is a lot of ambient noise where I work and I found it frustrating.
Definitely easy read, the end was a bit stretched out for my liking considering there are 3 chapters after the fact that are there to flavour up the character and his internal struggle but i would very much apretiate them to be at the mid section if not the start what would make the character be more well rounded. Definitely did not leave a bad taste in my mouth after i was done. Would recommend for a dead shift at work.
Great book, really kept me hooked the whole time.
Absolutely horrible! Do some research for crying out loud. The FBI does not have prosecutors for starters. They are law enforcement. Sheriffs don’t run police departments, they run Sheriff’s office over a county, not a town. The main character is constantly contradicting. One minute she doesn’t have a social life, next she is a social butterfly Which is it? Just very poor dialogue, poorly written. Don’t waste your time.
Gripping story, good characters, looking forward to next book
great for a short but 2nd book hope then carry the story line with rosie
Every single male character was the same… had to force myself to finish this book
The narrator is awful. Makes the story completely boring I couldn’t continue. She has no emotion in her voice for anything. The book might be good otherwise I don’t know.
The book is okay, but the reader threw me off a little bit.
Stopped listening in chapter 1 - narrator was putting me to sleep.
Repetitive and just not interesting
Waste of time- too tame.
Good read. Cool story
Enjoyable
Good!
Easy listening I'm not normally a fan of FBI stories. this one had been on my library of books to listen too for some time so I was pleasantly surprised when I finally got around to it
I love true crime and thrillers so I was hopeful that this book though fictional would be an entertaining story. However, the main character, Nikki Lyons is an insecure and immature woman who is supposed to be some top-notch FBI agent. Someone who is as deeply troubled with severe PTSD as this woman is portrayed to be would never have passed any type of psychological exam for any type of police force, let alone the FBI. Add that the narrator wants to talk in some wispy voice made this a truly challenging book to listen to.
I was listening to the audiobook and had to stop because I really didn’t like the narrator. It sounded immature and really bothered me.
Good story a bit different, good that the two main people didn’t fall in love. The narration was good , nice and clear.
Maybe I didn't love it because I listened while sick. but it was ok
Good
good story, want to read the next one
Loved this book. Took a few chapters to get into it but then i was invested like never before!
I found the book to be a bit far fetched. She solves these crimes after being assigned to them within a few days when they have been open for months. I also am not fond of the narrator.
great story..
The book was pretty good but I almost stopped listening because the narration was not good at all.
Short but I die enjoy this author. I'll have to look for more of her books.
Really enjoyed this book. All ready added the rest of the series to my wishlist. I listened to the book in one go. Would recommend it.
boring, Standard story
it drags so much
Spellbinding thriller that kept me riveted to the end. Well narrated.
This book was ok- not bad, not great. Interesting enough.
the first part was not real interesting but if you can get over that it is good
I really enjoyed it
Good plot in the story
Suspenseful, well written.. great
The story had promise but the dialogue was trite, predictable, and lazy. The narration was equally cheesy. I rarely give up on a book without finishing it but this one joins that small group.
Intriguing read. Blake Pierce writes well The plot & outcome keeps up interest, and as usual for Pierce, it's impossible to predict the culprit.
was difficult to understand storyline, didn't care for the book.
At times book was a bit predictable...the narrator's regular reading voice is beautiful....but the voices of other parts , not so good ..
This book is fine if you just want something on in the background, but don't expect to be wowed by the plot or for it to be to be a highly stimulating read.
I liked this story. The narration, however, may have made the characters seem a bit more pedestrian than they were actually written. Perhaps it is a case of needing more experience to achieve a better flow. So, I am looking forward to another in the series to see how things progress!
The story could have been a winner if the writer was able to make it interesting, but it was boring, predictable and badly executed. I lost count of the number of worn out cliches used repeatedly. Disappointing book.
It was pretty good
Book was fine but reading was a little flat. Harder to get into.
This book was decent and definitely had potential, there were a few parts that seemed rushed and as someone who enjoys true crime I was extremely disappointed on several things. The lead up to a completely unknown criminal, the effort they make and weak strategy. These FBI agents didn’t seem like they were qualified. Run by “feelings” they had no reason to accuse a guy that they were, other then a MATCH on tinder? Very weak. Then they connected with the main characters unresolved emotional damage. Which was the only bonding they did and honestly any friendship/relationship based on unresolved trauma is exhausting. The narrator did decent other then changing voices completely from one paragraph to the other.
Great story
I’ve listened to hundreds of book and this one was very boring. The storyline was basic and the narrator sounded forced. Not worth the money.
I really enjoyed the story Iine, enough suspense to keep you thinking Narrator was good
Good plot, a little slow. Wish there was a sequel or prequel.
