Unabridged Audiobook
I wouldn’t say I “enjoyed” this book, but I am glad she wrote it and shared her story. As the title implies, Beth Moore has a lot of knots and tangles in her story. Even though she is very, very vague about how her dad sexually abused her, it’s still part of her story. It makes me sick for her. No child should be abused, especially not by the one tasked by God to protect her. Abuse wasn’t the main theme of the book. But after you know, it permeates everything. Or at least it did for me. The disordered teaching in the church was also part of the book. I am sorry that men have twisted God’s word so that they can have power trips and hurt others. I am thankful that Beth decided to share her story. I hope and pray it brings hope, healing, and light to others.
After doing many of Beth’s studies and going to a Lifeway conference in Toronto ON, this memoir was an absolutely beautiful but difficult “listen”. My heart breaks for all that Beth and Keith have gone through. Yet at the same time, her epilogue was so beautiful and Christ honouring. Jesus held her fast and didn’t let her go. I was so blessed and encouraged in my faith journey to keep holding on to Jesus, the Author of my faith. To God be the Glory!! Thank you, Beth for being so courageous to write your memoir. Even though this book has an end, your story is not over.
Incredible story. So well written. So candid. Love the narration.
Beth Moore made me laugh out loud.
Great!
Very honest and candid. Kept me interested throughout the book. Gut wrenching accounts that broke my heart. It was refreshing to hear Beth’s story from her. I’m glad she finally did this book.
I only knew Beth Moore wrote Bible studies. It was good getting to know her as a human being with genuine problems. She had me laughing and crying in just about every chapter.
I feel like I have a new friend after hearing Beth Moore’s autobiography.
10/10 - Thank you Beth Moore!
So encouraging to know that God is always in control. This is a beautiful but tough story to tell. Beth did an exceptional job to give God all the glory.
Very honest and relatable.
interesting
So very thankful to the Lord Jesus for your transparency. My husband and I were so blessed and encouraged by l that God has done in and through your lives. See you at the feet of Jesus!
This is one of the best books I have ever read; in all my life! Can’t say enough about how good this book was.
I had this audiobook to make a long road trip seem like a gaunt across town. Beth Moore is so brave on so many levels. It was an honor to be invited into her personal life. She was shockingly self disclosing and it was much appreciated. Many people, including myself, will be mightily encouraged by this story.
Excellent insight into a life of someone I admire. Incredible vulnerability and authenticity mixed with wisdom and experience.
Precious woman. God bless her
A Manifesto of Truth
Beautifully written! Heart-wrenching, but heart-warming story of God's faithfulness to the author. I cried (sobbed at times), but I laughed, too.
A candid life full of high highs, low lows, and lots of amazing grace. I loved hearing her telling her story,
Loved it!!
So well written and told difficult things in a dignified manner
I loved every minute of this book and hearing Beth read her story. Life changing. I highly recommend!
I loved the audio version of Beth telling her story.
I had a bit of a hard time getting into this book since Beth speaks more as a child in the beginning.some of the story seemed unnecessary and bogged it down. But then she got into the life defining moments of her story and I was hooked. Beth is very vulnerable and addresses why she made certain decisions. By the end of the book I was in tears and wanting it not to end.
Beth Moore makes you feel like you’re listening to a friend tell her story. Her writing style is filled with grace, honesty and humor. It is a hope giving story.
I love listening to Beth Moores verbage and word usage. I am so thankful she shared her story.
I loved hearing Beth narrate this herself. It added so much to her incredible life story. It was descriptive without being too explicit and she graciously allowed anonymity for rascals in the later years. I was sorry to have it end.
This book was so bold, vulnerable and beautiful. I have admired Beth for years and done several of her studies, but I knew nothing of her incredible story. The fact that she shared it with us, her readers, is such an incredible gift we ought to steward with great respect and care.
The author certainly had an interesting story! I liked hearing her read it herself. I'm not a church person but I really appreciate that Beth's values. Very glad she chose to speak her truth to power toward the end of the book. Fortifying.
