Unabridged Audiobook
This book was meh... I chose this title for a Goodreads Challenge based on the review that this was a "Knives Out" comparison, which ultimately led to a disappointment. While it did have some similar elements to "Knives Out", it didn't live up to the "whodunnit" elements for me. It followed the standard cliché "murder for money" motive, but not for our main character. It felt odd that he was invited to a remote location to discuss an inheritance that he didn't even want. The romance aspect between Zeb and Gideon also felt forced in order to make the story have an MM love interest. The epilogue also felt forced and rushed, not only to cover up the mysterious deaths of the other family members who wanted to claim the family fortune, but it also jumped ahead to let you know that the one who ended up with the fortune is the one who never wanted it. Good for Zeb to "right the wrongs" of the past and save the day!
