Unabridged Audiobook
A good book for reflection. A very good read.
moving story of difficult decisions trying to do the best for family. very interesting to hear the Japanese perspective during WWII.narrator was great
Good story it dragged on a bit.
The tragic story line captivates your heart, the book itself though was too long and redundant. The narrator did an excellent job!
An interesting story with a historical perspective of Japan after WW2 up to the Tokyo Olympics in 1964, and then jumps to about 1980. I never knew how difficult life was for the typical citizen, the class system, and the Asian pride of men. I enjoy learning about history and culture when presented as a story as it captures the emotions rather than reading hard facts.
