This book needed a great editor. It was way too long. Way too many adjectives and descriptions leading up to the action. I got tired of the characters being so self righteous while making very bad decisions. I guess I was supposed to sympathize with the main character Patch. I did up until he did the stupid thing and killed someone. This like many plots would not be possible without a lot of money available. Patch was lucky. He was a great artist. At the beginning this plot reminded me of the play. No Exit. Put simply the characters are attracted to a person who is not attracted to them. Hell is other people who give no one satisfaction. The good thing about this book was how it brought attention to how many young girls go missing forever. It’s a true tragedy in our world that once they’re missing, you’re most likely dead.

Uggh this book! I wanted to love it but it is about 200 pages too long! Narration was awesome though with exception of having him say chapter… every ten seconds! Id skip if I was choosing again!

Enjoyed this story that captures the coming of age of its main characters, both in their perception of things happening around them and the events they face in life. Things are not always as they seem which kept me interested in the characters’ development. My only criticism was the number of chapters! It would have been better organized into parts rather than chapters. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with over 200 chapters!

The book was excellent and I really enjoyed the narrator. He gave each character their own inflection so you could easily remember who was who, but the voice change was not over exaggerated at all like some narrators. He made the book come to life. Excellent narration!

Probably the best book i have ever read. Took my breath away. Narrator was perfect.

Most depressing book I’ve listen to in a long time. Too long winded and drawn out. Could not finish it.

I loved this book! I was totally engrossed. I agree it was long, but I couldn’t stop listening to it. (Audiobook) There were definitely some twists in the plot.

Great read

Ugh was so hopeful with this one, I reallllly wanted to like it!! But that was painful to finish I only did because I paid for it. So many adjectives and details that it was unnecessary and hard to read. There were some interesting parts but overall dragged on. Would not recommend this book to anyone sadly. :(

An interesting read

I loved the ending!

This book was SO GOOD. mystery, murder, thriller, love story ?!! It was a can’t stop listening, gotta follow along but truly a great read.

Despite the negative reviews, I really enjoyed this book. I loved everything about it, the story, the characters, the ending. I gasped and shouted out loud several times. I ugly cried twice. I am still thinking about the book and miss the narrators voice. I love when I read a book that others didn’t like and find a little surprise gem.

Disliked this book. Confusing and hard to follow and not very interesting.

I enjoyed reading this book. So many themes related to forbidden love woven throughout the little stories that were a part of the big story. I found myself thinking about the stories for a long time after I finished listening to the book.

The editor failed on this book. It was 200 pages too long. I thought the book was over and we were not even half way through the book. There is NO way I would have been able to physically read this book and finish it. I would have given up like half of my book club did in the first 50 pages.

The characters were very convenient to tell the story that the author wanted you to tell. The things that happened to them all were very convenient. It was obvious where the book was going and everything wrapped up in a bow. It had the bones of being a great book if the author allowed the characters to take the story to a realistic place rather than have the characters wrapped around a story outline that he had to stick to. Not a bad author, but could have used some advice on character development versus plot development and how to properly balance them. Overall however, i did enjoy the book. I wouldn’t read it again, but it did keep me entertained throughout. I think i was disappointed as it had promise to be a great book instead of a goodish book.

I enjoyed the book. The suspense was crazy, in a good way. The characters had some twists and turns I didn’t see coming.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Multiple plot twists! I enjoyed the storytelling and detail helped paint the scene perfectly in my mind.

It was great. Several times I wondered why someone would recommend this book to me. It was too dark and rough, but then a twist would appear to keep me entwined. Sometimes it was hard to follow. Had I been reading the book, I would have stopped and gone back to reread or look back over info, but that isn’t as easy on an audio book. Despite that, it was an amazing well written book. It is very deep and has lots of meaning. The twists and turns never stop.

This book is well written with several twists. I enjoyed every minute.

One of my favourite books so far this year. Well, written and engaging, I really got attached to the characters.
