Unabridged Audiobook
Overall an enjoyable read for those who like clifi/post-apocalyptic stories. I did feel the first half was better than the second; once they get out of NYC, the narrative starts to feel a bit too derivative of Parable of the Sower to the point of things getting a little predictable, if you've read that classic, and some of the later charaters' motivations gets a bit into deus ex machina territory. All that said, the author covers a lot of interesting ground, and and its a solid contribution to the genre.
This book is glorious! I’ve had the pleasure of attending a seminar with the author and she is just a wonderful person and the labor, time and love that went into this novel shines throughout. I appreciate all the science-accurate information mixed with the world building and character development. It’s really a beautiful book and there’s so much to delve into. The writing is beautiful, as the language draws you in and transports you into a realm of emotion. Highly recommend!
