Unabridged Audiobook
I decided to check out this book because the idea of a young girl wanting to join a convent was something I knew nothing about. The book and the whole process and daily life of a missionary of service was eye opening and quite revealing. I loved the fact that the author was the reader, you could tell she was honest in story; her hurt, anger, suffering, loneliness, confusion and how conflicted she was about the policies and practices of the convent way of life. Some parts were a little graphic for me, so I just fast forwarded them, and it didn't impact the story. The story is powerful and thought provoking. Everyone needs love. Everyone needs understanding- Everyone needs God. I liked the book because I learned something that I didn't know before. But I also liked it because of Mary's struggle against good and evil and how she was able to work through her problems with faith.
