Unabridged Audiobook
This novel is widely reputed to be one of the best court procedurals, and I agree with that viewpoint, but there were problems: Yes, it is an intelligent and absolutely fascinating court procedural, but if you think women have nothing to complain about regarding the attitude of men toward them, then please feel free to read this book! The blatant misogyny which runs throughout this novel is not to be believed. True, it was published in 1959 and to a degree much has changed but if you are one of those who believes that "women's issues" bear no merit - again, read this novel - then look up the actual name of the author (Robert Traver is a pseudonym) and see what position he held in the Michigan State Court. If you are an English major looking for a dissertation topic, here it is!
