Unabridged Audiobook
I get the idea of limiting these books to one hour, but after listening to one, it seems like a bad idea. I learned some I guess, but not much. Too many dates and names with too little context and background, too little detail to remember much about all those names and dates. The narrator didn't help. That kind of British (is that what it was?) faux upper crust accent and delivery I suppose was to add gravitas to the subject, but it made the whole exercise feel like satire, especially considering the shallowness of the material.
A bit short - would have prefered the recording to last at least several hours. Basically an equivalent of attending two or three history classes at junior high or browsing through a wikipedia article on ancient Egypt. I guess not much more can be squeezed into ca. 90 mins of recording.
It didn´t bring me to ancient Egypt... too much names and dates smashed together for an audio book.
