Summary
A scientist from another world. A mage seeking deadly knowledge. A power that could topple an empire.

Nathan's life was defined by labs and lectures until an Archmage yanked him into Davrar and made him a tantalizing offer: master magic in exchange for Earth's scientific secrets. Yet, Nathan can't shake off the feeling that darker truths lurk beneath such promises.

The world of Davrar is a dangerous place teeming with dungeons and monsters—ruled by levels, Talents, and a near-infinite progression of power. Nathan will need to rely on himself to survive, forging alliances and taking every advantage he can get against those that seek to control him.

His unique capacity to counteract magic gives him an unprecedented edge, making him a beacon of resistance against those who wield magic as a weapon of control.

Armed with intellect and an emerging power that could dismantle the very foundations of Davrar's society, Nathan emerges not as a mere student of magic, but as its ultimate adversary: the Antimage.

The author will explain the same thing twice chapters apart and the MC will act like it is new info again. The MC is written to ponder obvious questions or concepts mid conversation or mid fight rather than think and plan ahead. He is written as if he only has a thought in his head when directly in conversation or action and any "off screen" travel or alone time was spent in standby mode or something. Questions like who are you lead to a 10 minute internal debate on how much to say even hours after meeting only once the obvious question is asked. I honestly think this is written by AI or something as this is the same exact style as so many of the others in this genre. I live for the gems and slog thru the muck like this to get there. This most certainly is not anything close to a 5 and to rate it as such is an insult to the real 5/5 books out there. This is a 2, a 3 if you are a gay man, but not a 4 or 5.

The main character is dispassionate, and descriptions of,erm, intimate interest are laughably juvenile. But for a dnd inspired american isekai its entertaining for sure and the narrator is amazing
