Set in Acadia National Park, The Approaching Storm—the fourth book in Mark Thielman's Johnson and Nance Mysteries—is a gripping dual-timeline thriller where the past bleeds into the present. Perfect for fans of Steve Berry and Gary McAvoy.

A stolen painting in Acadia reveals a secret buried since the Civil War.

When a thief steals a valuable Hudson River School painting from a museum in Acadia National Park, Special Agents Clarence Johnson and Alison Nance are called in to recover it. But when their only lead—a local college student—is found dead, the case takes a chilling turn.

Cryptic clues left at the crime scene point to a trail hidden since the 1800s. And as Johnson and Nance follow the evidence across the windswept cliffs and rugged coast of Maine, they uncover a story long buried—one powerful enough to rewrite history.
