This is a classic story that tells a very entertaining story in a light hearted art.

Enjoyed the book. The narrator was good

Fine classic story. Entertaining way to catch up on some classics I should have read 50 years ago. Good narration although his pronunciation of the Platte River as Plate bothered this son of the Great Plains.

A true classic.

I enjoyed listening to this. It keeps one interested. The narrator's voice is wonderfully calm.

Great adventure!

Entertaining, but would have been more so had the narrator employed accents as I have come to enjoy, in so many other audiobooks

Book was good for a short read. Lots of possibilities for having been expanded on but overall very good. Narrator was great. Nice & full bodied voice.

Very enjoyable

I think it must be a cultural thing, because American readers so frequently a real challenge for me to listen to. The exact same beat of highs and lows, emphasis and decay, is repeated for every single sentence. It's like listening to Siri. After an hour I realise I've taken nothing in. It's soporific and impossible for me to focus on. Off to find an English reader for this book...

Great story, very entertaining. I read it after watching the tv series and did not find it lacking. The narrator was brilliant. I quibble a bit aboutthe pronunciation of “quays” but it was beautifully read..

I enjoyed this story.

Dull if I am honest. Moves too slowly at some bits and then appears to rush over others. I did not even get half way. This is not usual for me but I got further this time than on the time before. Its a classic I know but nevertheless I will give it its 3rd go one day and then give it up.

The Narrator was excellent except he pronounces a lot of things incorrectly. I got over it though because he is such a great reader. Really professional sounding.

Great story and whilst the reader's voice was pleasant to hear, why on earth can they not learn to pronounce well-known words. Quay is pronounced key and not kwey. Edinburgh is pronounced edinbrough.

excellent

A truly captivating classic that encompasses travel, action, suspence, humour and romance, with a healthy dose of adventure. There was narration too! A Hugh recommendation.

It kept my attention beginning to end!

Classic story. I can see why this has stood the test of time. Charming, amusing, and exciting. Also very well narrated. Enjoyed this book very much!

Reader did not pronounce Kearney, NE, or the Platte River correctly. Was very distracting. Otherwise did excellent job.

Annoying how the narrator pronounces quay! Not the British pronunciation nor American

I am going through all the classic stories at the moment and I saw the movie in my youth, David Niven was the star and played the part of Phileas Fogg so I decided to listen to the story as it was originally told. It was an excellent story and to be honest I was there for him all the way. I genuinely looked forward to each time I listened to the story and was desperately hoping he would make it which is quite funny as I already knew the story but again that is also down to good narration by Michael Scott. Again it is beautiful story well narrated and definitely worth listening too.

Great story and an excellent narrator.

Awesome story.

Loved it!

Profile Avatar Nikki Larter Jun 2016

Reasonably entertaining but not a lot of character development. The narrator was reasonably pleasant but he annoyingly mispronounced some words like monsieur

Profile Avatar Nathan Licciardo Mar 2016

Great classic tale. Yes there are some mispronunciations throughout, but they are minor in comparison to the overall quality of the narration!

Profile Avatar Elizabeth Pedersen Nov 2014

are commenters referring to mispronounced Indian words such as Tooele? which no one could pronounce unless they lived there... I thought it was well read and a good story!

Profile Avatar Diana Franklin Sep 2014

Enjoyed listening to this version! The English accent helped to remind me that this was not an American view point, and that Disney had nothing to do with this????

Profile Avatar Rowdy Nelson Aug 2014

Some mis pronounced words but I assume it's based on a British pronunciation .

Profile Avatar Lauren Hudson Jun 2014

What's the deal with all the mispronunciations? The narrator regularly mispronounces words.
