This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
He robs only those who deserve it, returns what has sentimental value, signs his thefts, and warns his victims in advance. He is a master of disguise, an escape artist, and an incorrigible show-off — and when Maurice Leblanc introduced him in 1905, France fell in love immediately.

This first collection contains the stories that made him: the transatlantic crossing on which a wireless message reveals that Arsène Lupin is aboard under an assumed name, and the passengers begin to suspect one another; his arrest, his imprisonment, and the trial at which he contrives not to be present; the escape; and the first encounter with the English detective Leblanc called Herlock Sholmès after Conan Doyle's publishers objected to the original.

Lupin is the great counterweight to Holmes — where the Englishman restores order, the Frenchman delights in overturning it, and does so with charm rather than violence. A century later the character has outlived most of his contemporaries, and these early stories show exactly why: they are fast, funny, and constructed like conjuring tricks. This is an unabridged recording of a fresh modern translation.
