MEET THE DOG

WHO WILL SHOW THE WORLD

HOW TO BE HUMAN

The New York Times bestselling novel from Garth Stein—a heart-wrenching but deeply funny and ultimately uplifting story of family, love, loyalty, and hope—a captivating look at the wonders and absurdities of human life . . . as only a dog could tell it.

“Splendid.” —People

“The perfect book for anyone who knows that compassion isn’t only for humans, and that the relationship between two souls who are meant for each other never really comes to an end. Every now and then I’m lucky enough to read a novel I can’t stop thinking about: this is one of them.” —Jodi Picoult

“It’s impossible not to love Enzo.” —Minneapolis Star Tribune

“This old soul of a dog has much to teach us about being human. I loved this book.” —Sara Gruen

Book was suggested by a fellow dog lover. It was interesting to compare life to auto racing, especially through the experience of a dog.

This book made me cry harder than any other book. It took me through every emotion. And I can't say that genuinely, for many books.

Although told by a dog named “Enzo” as in Ferrari, the book is about life (human as well as dog) and the skills which good Formula 1 drivers race safely in rain. The narrator is Enzo, the cherished companion of racer, Denny who seems to be totally down in the quagmires of his life. Resolution is facilitated by an exciting turn of events which are surprising at the hand of Stein’s creative talent and skillful crafting of story.

Enzo and Denny are together thru think and thin, good times and very bad times and they are the perfect match. what a good friendship looks like, the understanding without having to explain, sometimes without words.

I don't watch movies or read books about dogs because they make me cry. My book club had this on the reading list for this month. I read it and it was well done but it did make me cry. Any dog owner that has lost his pet will find this to be sad. I loved hearing life from a dog's point of view. Very well written very well read.

Amazing book! Only negative thing I have to say about the audio book was I didn't like the music between some of the chapters. But besides that it was amazing! Narration was great as well!
