Unabridged Audiobook
Good as a whole. Did not like how she jumped from past to present, could have written that more smoothly. Learned some interesting perspectives- it wasn’t just the Jewish that were persecuted & imprisoned. Although, a 16 y/o would not have had that much insight along the way. Ended abruptly. How DID she end up with the her husband in the end?!
Great book. I wish I was longer so I could have listened more! Wonderful, wonderful story!
The book was a slow listen. The Story jump back-and-forth between past and present in a jarring manner that I found disruptive. The characters , especially the mother, Seemed extremely childish and simple in the way they were portrayed by the author and made worse only by the narrator with a whiny high-pitched child like voice.
Absolutely beautiful book. I’ve read tons of WW2 stories and this is one story and perspective I never knew about. Heartbreaking and astounding story of survival.
