A former Green Beret tracks an unseen assassin killing his old unit one by one in this high-stakes military action thriller of cat-and-mouse pursuit and family-driven stakes.

He’s trying to leave the past behind. But when darkness comes calling, this vigilant survivor still has a few bloody tricks up his sleeve.

John Tyler refuses to give evil an inch. That resolve is tested when a former service friend turns up dead, followed closely by a brutal attack on another member of Tyler’s old unit. The timing isn’t coincidence. Someone is settling scores.

As Tyler starts asking questions, a pattern emerges. His former squad is being hunted, one by one, by a skilled and patient assassin who knows exactly how to stay invisible.

With the danger closing in, Tyler shifts into protection mode. His daughter Lexi and his elderly father are now potential targets, and he won’t risk either of them becoming collateral damage.

Drawing on years of experience, Tyler works to force the killer into the open. But with PTSD never far from the surface and too many lives depending on him, the margin for error is razor thin. If Tyler missteps, the body count won’t stop with his friends.

Backfire is perfect for fans of fast-paced action thrillers, former military heroes, and relentless cat-and-mouse tension.
