This is one of my favorites. I loved this one.

Almost a great story. Just a little too much at times, but a great ending.

Preston and Child have done it again. Badlands is a gripping, atmospheric thriller that had me hooked from the very first page. I finished it in just two days, completely absorbed by the suspense, pacing, and signature storytelling that makes their work so addictive. The plot is sharp and unpredictable, filled with the kind of intelligent twists that fans have come to love. The setting is haunting, the characters memorable, and the narrative tension expertly sustained throughout. Every detail feels deliberate, and the story moves with a momentum that never lets up. What elevated the experience even further was the narration. The narrator’s performance was pitch-perfect—every voice distinct, every emotion captured with nuance. It added a cinematic quality to an already riveting story and kept me fully engaged from beginning to end. Preston and Child continue to prove why they are unmatched in the thriller genre. Badlands isn’t just a good book—it’s a reminder of what great storytelling looks like. For me, there are no better reads.
