Baghdad Battery

This book focuses on the Baghdad Battery. The rich history behind the Baghdad Battery is contained in this book. Each chapter contains detailed information on this ancient artifact believed to have been discovered over 500 years ago. Its uniqueness is included in the theories around the invention which are results of an in-depth research deeply explored in detail. Discovered by Wilhelm Konig in the 1930's the Austrian Director of the Baghdad Museum and Iraq Antiquities Department, the odd-looking object was found during traditional excavations of a 2000-year-old Parthian village, now modern Khujut Rabou, a town located southeast of Baghdad. The Baghdad Battery, often also known as the Parthian Battery, refers to a collection of three different artifacts discovered together at the same time is currently in Khujut Rabu'a. Remains of the battery are now housed at the National Museum of Iraq, attracting visitors who appreciate the collection with the need to learn and understand its origins and the history behind it. Other questions still being raised in search of information behind the Baghdad batteries are the involvement of science in the study of the battery, effects of the environment on the artifact, and what works are going on around the Baghdad battery. All this is has been highlighted in this publication. At the same time, the media has also covered the issue widely in the process, contributing to creating debate, increasing knowledge and understanding of the Baghdad battery.
