Unabridged Audiobook
I read some reviews prior to picking this audiobook. I’m going to have to agree…the narration is pretty bad. The main characters sound like they are in their 90’s when they are supposed to only be in their 30’s.
This book was so slow moving. I forced myself to get through it. After reading “Under the Magnolias” by the same author I had higher hopes for this book. The narrator made it even harder to get through as I listened to this book vs read it. The worst I’ve ever listened to.
I really like the story but the narrator almost ruined it for me. The voices she gave the characters were just awful. Read this one yourself.
Love this author. But I was totally unable to finish this book because the narrator’s voice was so grating. She had the characters sounding like chain smokers. Very unfortunate. I enjoy reading books using narration while I’m driving but her voice was over the top. With this book being about the south, perhaps a true southern narrator would have been more suitable. This one did not work for me.
