I was hesitant to read this story after reading the synopsis but I am glad I did. Bachman’s ability to develop characters as if they have been a part of my life is truly amazing. His dialogues are as natural as any conversation among friends.

Great story, but BEST narrator ever! I am going to look for more books narrated by Marin Ireland. Seriously, she makes an incredible actor, being all of the actors in the story.

Like other reviewers, I enjoyed this book. I appreciate all of Backman's work, but I wouldn't rank this one as a favorite. The expanse of character development is impressive, and that I was able to keep everyone straight is a testament to Backman's abilities. I think it was the plot line that didn't grab me as much as his other novels. Still, I highly recommend.

This is a very enthralling tale! Both story and character development are very good and it held my interest throughout. A powerful message about human nature, the pros and cons of a small town and the risk of judging people too soon? Loved it!

His best book of those I have read so far due to so many things regarding the characters and struggle of life in general. And the narrator simply the best one since I started in Audiobooks.

The story and the narrator brought me into this story and kept me riveted the entire time.
