Unabridged Audiobook
This book isnt as fast paced as most young adult books, but its nice to actually see the characters build a relationship based on something real as opposed to the way someone looks or smells. And the characters are likable instead of characters you spend most of the book thinking DONT DO IT! And then they always do it. A refreshing change.
I can't believe I waited so long to read this book! I enjoyed every minute of it, and it was long. Not that that's a bad thing. Most books these days feel rushed, but Beautiful Creatures' longer length not only gave me the time to fall in love with the Ethan and Lena, but to understand why they fell in love with each other. That's something I feel is missing from most books these days. The authors of this novel really kept their characters connected—linking Ethan and Lena's families together before they even knew each other! Each character had a distinct voice, which really set this book apart. My favorite character was probably Amma, because I never knew what she was going to say or do, even in the end. The listening experience for this book was phenomenal. I'm positive that had I only been reading this book it would have played like a movie in my mind because of its beautifully detailed descriptions, but getting to hear the eerie music, and amazingly timed sound effects put this audiobook over the top! It was beautifully produced. I can't wait to get my hands on book two!
Loved this audiobook the narration and effects were amazing. I loved that the characters had different voices. The book was great with a lot of detail and descriptions I could picture the scenes in my mind. The book is so much better than the movie. I originally saw the movie and liked it then I started reading reviews on the book and many of them mentioned the large differences between the book and the movie so I was intrigued to see what these differences were, after having listened to the book I believe the film makers should have stuck to the book. The movie would have been that much better.
This Narrator is genius. He has different voices for different characters and I can see the conversations. His voice is calming and a bit sexy too! Love this book, and the Narrator keeps me engaged .
Great book. Love the narrator. Wish they'd continue the movies!!
Good book. Enjoyed the character developement, and the fact that they slowly naturally fell in love. The narrator is amazing, and the production of the audio book is very impressive. I enjoyed the sound effects, and the song. It took me a chapter or two ito get used to it, but now this is the new standard for audio books in my opinion. Absolutely wonderful.
For a YA book, I found this book to be very good. I loved how you get to know the charcters and you feel like you are apart of the scene. The series is worth reading and I don't find that any of the books lose the inpact that first one brings to you. Happy Reading.
I don’t really get the hype surrounding this book. It was good, but I didn’t love love it the way a lot of other people seemed to. I think what I had a hard time with is the protagonist. The story is told in the first person POV of a sixteen year old boy. I just cannot in any reality connect to a sixteen year old boy. Also, I hate Young Adult. I’m a fan of a more mature hero and heroine. That’s a personal preference, though. That being said, there were parts of this book I enjoyed very much. The way Lena and Ethan were able to communicate telepathically across miles reminded me of the Chrysalids. And I loved the Chrysalids. The concept of the book was interesting and it had a magical feel when I was reading. I loved that. However, I think I would have loved this book a lot more if it was shorter. It dragged in parts. There were many many things I felt could have been pared down without changing the integrity of the story. Also, I didn’t really believe the love story. Although, I think that goes back to my dislike for young adult. I think I just have a hard time believing love between two sixteen year old kids will last. Overall, I’m glad I read it to see what it was about, I enjoyed the concept, but I don’t have a burning desire to pick up the next book. It was just okay for me.
I enjoyed it very much. It made me wanting to come back and hear more.
I am Loving this Book! The Characters have some depth and it's not a fluff romance.
This book series almost got past me! Thank goodness it didn't, I just started the first book Beautiful Creatures, I love it! I will write more after I finish this book! I'm sure I will not be disappointed! Well, I have to get back to my book!! The Narrator Kevin Collins is very good.
