Unabridged Audiobook
Excellent story. Loved how the story evolved. Did not know so much could go on at a monastery! Hooked once again!
I did not like this book at all. The premise for this book was very interesting and intriguing, which is why I wanted to read it. I did not know what "the beautiful mystery" referenced. That historical aspect was fun to learn about, but I found the writing to be very dry. It droned on and on and on. The answer to the mystery was self-explanatory about 1/2 way through. There was so much needless swearing and the f-bomb was used way too much. I can understand a well-placed swear word, but this book just went on and on with the swearing. I am a high school English teacher and I have read hundreds of novels. This book was very long and tedious.
I've listened to this whole series and this is one of my favorites. Not sure why, but this is my favorite of the narrators as well--really helps put you in the story.
I’m hooked. A nice trip away from Three Pines, but I missed those characters. On to the next……
This book was very well done! As usual, I was enlightened by the subject matter. I never gave monks much thought before, Now I realize there is much more going on under the funny hair-do’s and robes. Human beings! With hopes, dreams and love just like the rest of us non-monks! The plots is thickening though, can’t wait for the next book!
Love all other books...
At first I wasn't sure I would like this one since it veered away from the usual 3 pines characters, but I ended up absolutely loving it. Louise never disappoints, and of course, the narrator is always the best. I will miss him the future ones.
Loved this book, as well as all Louise Penny's books. I have read nine of them. Each is better than the previous. Margaret
