Benjamin Franklin: The Runaway Printer Who Helped Birth a Nation

This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice.

Benjamin Franklin stands as one of the most influential Freemasons in history, yet his life was far more complicated than the polished image most people know.

This complete four-part series follows Franklin from his beginnings as a runaway apprentice printer and illegitimate son through the deadly fake Masonic initiation scandal that nearly destroyed him. It traces his rise as an “electric philosopher,” civic builder, and eventually a reluctant revolutionary who became America’s master diplomat in France.

We explore the full range of his character — his scandals, moral contradictions, and personal evolution from slave owner to abolitionist. The series also examines how core Masonic values of square dealing, Relief, and Truth guided him through war, diplomacy, and the difficult work of nation-building.

From the printing press to the Constitutional Convention, this is the story of a self-made genius who tried to live the working tools of Freemasonry in the real world. It’s a candid look at a brilliant but flawed man whose influence on both America and Freemasonry remains profound.
