"Birds and All Nature" was a monthly publication of the Nature Study Publishing Company of Chicago. It includes short poems and brief descriptions of birds, animals and other natural subjects with accompanying color plates. The magazine was published from 1897-1907 under the various titles, "Birds," "Birds and all Nature," "Nature and Art" and "Birds and Nature." Good listening for anyone with a love of nature! - Summary by J. M. Smallheer

This book mostly consists of little regalings of field observers, hunters, and travelers who discuss what they know of particular animals. It's from a western perspective, very period specific (from the late 1800s), and definitely shows it. I don't see it noted in the description of the audiobook anywhere, but be warned that a few of these stories involve animal cruelty or deaths. There are also multiple narrators used for this recording, so that can sometimes suck you out of the retellings, but I personally didn't find any of the chapters to be badly performed.
