I loved hearing the story again, and the narrator was perfect!

good book for all ages

I love this book so much! This book is a little sad but so very worth listening to. Don't be concerned it is too sad for your children, I am 9 and thought it was a fantastic book. I will listen again and again to this story.

One of my favorite all time horse stories even as a middle aged woman. I wore this book out, several times, when I was younger. The narrator did a fantastic job and has a fantastic voice. Great job!

I had read this as a child, but had forgotten most of it. Enjoyed "autobiography of a horse", and the lessons it holds. Well read.

I love this book. Anna Sewell did a very very good job making it.

We are travelling around Aus and this beautiful story appealed to the whole family. Great morals and also s wonderful insight into horses and how they live and are challenged each day. An awesome story

Book quite boring , lots of unnecessary chapters but story was very well narrated. Probably more ideal for teenagers and young adults.

Very good book and narrator. The narrator is a female, although Black Beauty is a male horse. However, she was very good. I liked her. I would rather have her than a lesser adept male narrator. I never read the book nor saw the movie, and it was nothing like I expected. It REALLY makes one think about how horses are treat and cared for…and how we should be treating horses. My heart went out to them.

I’ve always wanted to read this book and I’m so happy I was able to do so now with the gorgeous narrator. Lovely gentle story

Seemed a little odd listening to a female narrate a male horse's autobiography, but her voice is very pleasant indeed.

Narration was interesting and refreshing. Storyline told from Beauty's perspective was enlightening as to how horses can feel and relate to each other. Personified through this narration captures the reader's attention.

such an amazing story, beautifully written and so touching.

l love the book. I love when Black Beauty shows how hurt she was when she had to be away from her new friend!! Black Beauty got hurt a lot in this book. I love the end and the peace Black Beauty allowed us to feel.

its a very interesting story

I enjoyed the book. However, at each chapter it was distracting to hear details of who wrote the book, and citing that it was in the public domain. I feel that it chopped up the flow of the book. Strongly feel anyone who owns an animal should listen to this.

I believe it is a must read for anyone and everyone who loves horses!

I think going with a female for the narrative was a mistake. the horse was male so it's a little thing but I found it distracting. what I really didn't like was the long pause at end of chapter and then the speal at each and every start of chapter. I don't need to know the same details..was so annoying I stopped listening to the book.

Great listen for horse lovers

Soothed my soul, listening to the narrator and just hearing from Black Beauty about life, kindness, goodness and care. Really enjoyed and so happy to hear this classic! The LibrVox interruption at every chapter is always so annoying and unnecessary, but at least it was shorter here, especially with so many chapters!
