This didn’t disappoint - gripping from start to finish. Highly recommended

Simply amazing!! Well written and well read. This book was intriguing from start to finish. It was a seamless blend of fact and fiction. I can honestly imagine this book being real story of Elizabeth. I would love a 2nd book

very sadistic and I felt sorry for the mother but she did well for her daughters in the end.

Fantastic: gripping plot which races along, whilst still allowing time for character depth and the exploration of more complex themes.

A great story from the perspective of Elizabeth. The theme of gossiping and rumors spreading is just as relevant now as it was then.

Odd story. Not quite what I thought it would be but as it’s based on a true story, I wanted to know how it ended so I kept listening. Could have put it down from about 1/2 way through. .

Great storyline! I was engaged from the start and was hooked, I had to see where the story went and the outcome. Wasn’t disappointed, it was so good but wrong on some levels yet I found myself rooting for Elizabeth . Also showed what brief, greed and arrogance, ambition and the likes can influence thoughts actions and desires. Just wow.. great all round but definitely would have preferred a different outcome for Elizabeth.

the book was very overdone and stereotypical so just not my thing

Very disappointed, the book/theme was to dark. All the characters were villains and the worst villains of all, spoiler alert, prevailed in the end. If the ending was supposed to encourage you to wait for the sequel, poorly done. Who wants to listen to a continuation of a story when none of the characters are likable.

the story was okay, nothing near what I was expecting. it 2qs more of a flat bio story, than anything exciting or horror focused.

Overly dramatic, didn’t really get into any of the characters.

This book should've been longer. It seems like maybe a month and it covers 10yrs of historical info. The voice actor is fantastic! Her voice of the main character made me think or whiny. Legit, I hated it. All in all, a solid free credit book!

Unless you’re into a mediocre plot, poor writing, and rape scenes I’d skip this one.

Great story

I was not a fan of this audiobook. I fast forwarded to the end to see if I could get closure - but no such luck. I will not be listening to the next episode.

The premise of the book was unique. I wanted to root for the main character but her daftness was so frustrating.

I listened for hours and just kept waiting for something! It did not hold my attention. I read other reviews and honestly think we did not listen to the same book. It felt somewhat predictable and just wasn’t very exciting.

Such a gripping tale - so beautifully written and wonderfully read. A great pace of story, building when it needed to and paying off breathlessly. And a great example of how to write strong female characters (Hollywood take note).

I’m a lover of true stories, but this one was a bit painful to follow. I struggled through it … it started strong then went downhill for me . The narrator did a good job for the most part but got annoyed at time with it … I finished it because I’m not a quitter , but got close a few times .

Sorry but I struggled with this one. Wasn’t as gory as I expected and saw the end way before it happened.

I truly enjoyed this book and the excellent narrator, that really said it all.
