Unabridged Audiobook
This one was a bit rough. What with bringing in some help from the Walton’s crew and bringing up the bad experiences of some of the Walton family’s close friends and pack members back in the Terry Henry Walton Chronicles on Earth… This book had a feel to it that reminded me A LOT of NCIS, one of my favorite series. Searching and solving a missing military persons case. There is a very real race against the clock that gave the storytelling an urgency that really grabbed me! Even more so than some of the other books previously. Rivka also learns to test the other members of her team. Whether that is physical/armed duties, investigative work, negotiations, cyber, and probably some other things that I can’t think of right away. She has also backed away from being too dependent on her “gift/curse…” I love how much Rivka and the other characters of this series keep developing. But there are also those other moments that I REALLY appreciate from Martelle’s writing for family and the bonding of relationships between people and even some animals. You have Tyler backing and grounding Rivka. Giving her someone close to help with the weight of her job. Not to mention the precious new life and member of the crew!!! Martelle really knows how to drawn you in and stroke your heartstrings. Cannon continues to do a wonderful job with giving the characters a voice and bringing them to life! Thank you, LMBPN, for the opportunity and gift of this review-code copy!!!
