Unabridged Audiobook
The mystery plot itself was good and kept my interest. It was difficult to maintain that interest, however, when the author kept climbing on her soapbox about social issues past and present. The other major distractions for me were long involved explanations of complex forensic textbook-type information that weren't necessary for the story. I felt clobbered over the head with the author's personal agendas.
This book was pretty depressing. I thought that I would enjoy it despite the depressing topic, but, in reality, it was just a downer. The writing was great and all. If you want a well-written downer, give it a try.
To Listen to this book is ideal because of the use of accents and French words and phrases. My friend said it is more difficult when reading to get the gist of the French words. I strongly recommend this book. I feel it is one of the better written ones
I enjoyed the narration, very well done. The plot was interesting as were the characters. The ending, however, I found disappointing and too improbable to be satisfying.
A good read - an interesting blend of mystery, history, and forensic science.
