The Books of the Kingdom: Part 1 — Samuel

The books of Samuel and Kings were originally combined into a single volume known as “The Books of the Kingdom”. This first study in a two-part series explores why these texts bear Samuel’s name, even though David is the central figure.

Lance begins by highlighting God’s miraculous provision of Samuel during a critical time in Israel’s history. The study then turns to David, whose life-marked by both victory and failure-offers profound lessons for us today. Through David’s example, we gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be “a man after God’s own heart.”
