Unabridged Audiobook
Must read for parents of boys. I especially appreciated how deftly Whippman moved between her personal experiences as a mom, her convictions as a feminist, scientific research, and interviews with young men, which made the book thoughtful, nuanced, and rich.
Mind opening! I learned about multiple new social phenomena and got my own navigation compass about gender and parenting as a boy mum hugely breached! Thank you Ruth for writing this marvelous book! Special thank you from my side for narrating it, as a partito dislexic persone a parent with little free time the audio version is the miracle that made it possible for me to get through all of the book in a couple of months! My personal record for such a long book.
It is a great book. She is a little to stuck in the "Girls are raised to be subservient". NOT all are. A bit more nuance would go a long way. Still read this book!
