Summary
Opposites attract when a bashful librarian and a ruggedly handsome cop with a dark past meet one day in the Colorado woods—and dare to test their chemistry . . .

There's nothing like the first time . . .

In Carnal, Colorado, Faye Goodknight is the town's quiet, shy librarian. She may also be Carnal's last remaining virgin. For years, Faye has had a crush on Chace Keaton, but the gorgeous cop has always been unattainable. She's resigned to live contentedly with only her books for company—until Faye suddenly meets Chace alone in the woods . . .

Chace doesn't think he's the good guy everyone believes him to be. He's made a lot of choices he regrets, including denying his feelings for Faye. Through his choices, he's come to believe the pretty librarian is too good for him, but after their time in the woods, Chace realizes that she may be his last chance for redemption. Soon, their long simmering desires grow to a burning passion. Yet always casting a shadow over their happiness is Chace's dark past . . .

This was a great book. However, be prepared for monologuing. This is the reason the audiobook is 20 hours long. I would have loved one character with ADHD to say “you lost me after ‘it’s not your fault’ or ‘I love you.’” It’s the Incredibles where the good guys do all the monologuing. LOL. The kids in the book were the best because they either didn’t talk or got right to the point. Another LOL. The book is still worth it. Kristen Ashley tells a good story with great characters.

The book started off with strong language. But is was the male character persona. The love between the characters was so well written. Loved the adventure of the book. Have downloaded the rest of the series. On a note not a audible book for young kids to be within listening distance.

Chace and Faye were interesting characters. Faye was so shy and Chace was such an Alpha mail. Great plot and awesome characters. I love how the other characters from previous titles in the series are brought into the next book of the series.

Not what I was expecting. I was looking for a romance story and saw that this one perhaps had a little mystery added to it. Well, it definitely had both but it also had descriptive sex scenes. I like listening to audiobooks at work since I mostly work on computers and it can get very boring. so this story had me a tad paranoid listening to it at work because of the steamy scenes. what would my think if he heard what I was listening to?? Eeeek!! Lol. Aside from that, Faye was pretty funny, especially her rants when she was angry. I liked that she was such a scifi geek too. The narrator did a good job but I wasn't so thrilled about her voice for Chace. The character is 35 but her narration for him made him sound more like 65. In fact, he sounded more like Faye's father. The epilogue dragged on a bit and I could have done without it honestly but overall the story wasn't bad.
