Unabridged Audiobook
Drag fest. ⭐️⭐️ I really wanted to love this one after the first book, but this sequel frustrated me more than anything. The biggest thing that kept pulling me out of the story was how quickly Wren seemed to move on from Cross. Their relationship was such a huge emotional core of the first book that the shift felt abrupt and honestly hard to believe. I spent most of the book waiting for the emotional weight of everything between them to matter more. That said, I did enjoy learning more about the different powers and abilities people could have. The world-building expanded a lot in this book, and some of the new abilities and darker twists were genuinely interesting. The moral grayness of both sides of the war also added complexity. Unfortunately, the pacing dragged for me in the middle, and I felt more disconnected from the characters as the story went on. By the end, I was more emotionally exhausted than invested
So bad... someone lost the plot
This was ok - I liked the first book much more.
