Unabridged Audiobook
An interesting story. Better than I expected. Alex's voice was annoying at first but seemed fine as the book moved along. Not sure why Hagar barely got a mention.
Great book wish it went to his passing
Very interesting and engaging. Also sad….
Thank you Alex! Don’t give up the dream, you’re too young, if you want to just hang and jam with real people with heart and love for your music, let me know, I can sing, write, and I have a friend that I think would make you do a double take when you hear him. I’m no wanna be when it comes to music, talent and life. Imagine Alex Van Halen, with 3 nobody’s on stage, kicking ass and taking names, would not be VanHalen, but would be successful, [email protected]. Smile about the past,, live by example there may not be a tomorrow, and that’s ok, thanks to my smile I have lived life to the fullest, and the road is getting narrower, every minute counts, so live, love and smile. Rock on!
What appointment and heartfelt autobiography. Alex Van Halen has a remarkable insight into the human experience. I was crying by the end.
I went through the whole book in 1 day…
Not bad, I think although probably not what a lot of people were hoping for it is just how Alex feels about life with and losing his brother. If you are looking for a book regarding the band then this is not the book. The band of course is mentioned but doesn't cover a lot but does share some stories. This is something I think Alex did for Alex not so much for the Van Halen fans. He misses Ed very much, I can feel the pain.
I grew up listening to Van Halen music.. it was just as fun to listen to the book Thanks Al
Fascinating to hear all the behind the scenes real life adventures. Alex is very transparent and honest about the early years. I don’t think I would’ve enjoyed it nearly as much if Alex wasn’t the one actually reading the book. If you’re a VH fan, this is a must – listen.
Excellent
