A quiet English village. A reclusive artist found dead in his bungalow. And a terrified young woman who should never have been there.

When Dr Roger Lavington is called to the scene of a murder, he makes a discovery that places him in an impossible position. Hidden nearby is a mysterious young woman, desperate to escape before the police arrive. Against his better judgment, Roger agrees to help her.

But who is she? Why was she at the bungalow? And has Roger just protected an innocent woman, or helped a murderer slip away?

First published in 1923, The Bungalow Mystery is Annie Haynes’s gripping debut crime novel, filled with suspicion, concealed identities and a murder that refuses to give up its secrets. Perfect for listeners of cozy detective fiction from the Golden Age of Mystery.
