I really liked this story. It kept me intersted throughout and was a suspensful and rewarding read.
I love Laura Lippman's books! They are well-written and very entertaining. I really enjoyed this story. Although on the surface, it may seem the typical story of jilted husband and runaway wife, this story is much more complicated and involved. I also enjoyed the parts written from the perspective of the Rubin's son.
WOW. I read a lot, and a lot of what I read falls into the detective mystery genre because it's easy and entertaining. Lippman deserves to have a new genre, because her fascinating book breaks all those rules. It is intense, colorful, and has that unexpected twist at the end that has you thinking back through the whole story to find the clues. I lived in Baltimore for a number of years, so it was also nice to have the familiar setting - but I quickly forgot anything except the voice coming through my speakers. Please, add more Lippman to your library!
Good story about love, family, and deception. Enjoyable listening.
