Kinsey meets him in the local gym. Bobby Callahan is a scarred young man struggling back to life after a car forced his Porsche over the edge of a canyon, battering his body and muddling his memory. All he remembers is that someone, for some reason, tried to kill him. Desperate for clues about his own past life and certain he is being stalked, he asks Kinsey to protect him. Kinsey can't resist the brave kid - and neither can the killers. Three days late Bobby is dead. Kinsey Millhone never welshed on a deal. She'd been hired to stop a killing. Now she'd find the killer.

Excellent! This is my second time through these novels. I started when they were first released and have followed over the years. Decided to go start them over again and I am not sorry I did. I will be sorry when the series ends.

I can't imagine that listening to an unabridged version of this would have added to the story. It's a good time-passer on a drive, but there are some things that are rather far-fetched (can someone really teach themselves how to use an x-ray machine??).

Love her stuff - I have heard them all. She gets better and better

  • Commuter Who Listens

Grafton does it again! Kinsey gets in over her head once again. Grafton does a superb job of winding the story all together. Loved it!

Love this series - A through whatever! (what letter is she up to now??) Always great suspense, Grafton never disappoints!

  • Ettie Goldy

Sue Grafton has done it again! The story has many twists and turns, but always keeps your attention and is exciting and fun to listen to.

If you're just finding this author and Kinsey Millhone, start with the letter "A" is for Alibi and go through the entire series. You won't regret it.

  • Celeste Howard

I thought this was a great book. I enjoyed the narrator and the fast-moving plot. I will select this author again.
