Unabridged Audiobook
This was a light, enjoyable read. It held my attention.
Started off a little slow, but the author really developed all of the characters. The narration was excellent, and overall it was a great story.
Engaging, heart wrenching and heart warming.
Wow, the candle factory girl went through a lot! The narrator did a great job pulling you into the book and bringing the characters to life.
The narration is fabulous. Very enjoyable book. Did you get a little bit depressing in places? But it was depressing in the 1930s. It really took you on a journey of the girls life and her resilience shine through.
A jolly good saga!!A great story to garden with.
Really enjoyed this book.
Good kept your interest
Great book with very relatable characters painting a picture of life in pre war England & the flow on effect of the Great Depression. Have listened to it twice & enjoyed it very much, has a romantic thread running through it coupled with adventure & crime...very well woven together.
Meh. It’s nice but predictable. The narrator really made the dad sound so awful so I had to break away a few times because it was too much to listen to. No one needs that much brutality in a story.
Loved all the twists and turns. I loved it!
